WORD WEDNESDAY

Image
I remember when I was younger,  I loved this game, especially when everyone else in my group was out and only I was left. As I blazed through the ranks of my opponents, my fallen friends would chant, "Mother gyiga, nobody! Mother gyiga, nobody!" I usually don't get past four opponents till I am as slain as my fellows but still... the chant that charges you to avenge your fallen fellows, that charge, coursing through my gingered body is why that is my favourite memory of the game. What is yours? Which of the varieties of the game, ampe, is your favourite? Share some of your favourite memories of the game. If you know nothing about this energy draining yet highly satisfying game, google it. 😉 Or you can wait till the eternity with which it is taking me to set up a simple Youtube channel is up. Either way gather your pals (I don't agree that it is a game for females. Kudos to all those boys who could play better than I could in my prime🤗), and get playing....

TRUTH TUESDAY

Wisdom shouts in the streets Who will hear her? She demands to be heard So above the folly of men, she screams Will you hear her? She knows what you know The horrors and terrors of the past How it has scarred you How it has broken you Yet do we learn? And was it not enough? We even built statues Honoring our pain Honoring our past But did it make a difference? We knew but we did not understand We understood but we did not apply And now we are left worse off Having experienced but not learnt And twice we have failed ourselves Burnt everything once Only to build monuments and burn it all over again Yet wisdom screams When o when will man ever learn?!

MOTIVATION MONDAY

Many people do not feel beautiful. It goes a long way to affect their personality and their sense of self. When we don't feel beautiful we become less confident. We second-guess every action and how it will make us look. So even a smile become calculated because we don't want to expose too much teeth and look what,... genuinely happy? Indeed beauty is first seen in the face... by most people. But for you, look for beauty that is not skin deep, or even make-up deep. Look for the beauty within. That beauty flows in your words, your grace and your charisma. The way you carry yourself in such a unique way... Only you can do that. The way you dance your heart out, only you can do that. The way you capture the beauty of the moment, only you can do that. Beauty is unique. It is original. It comes from various layers of different textures called self and personality. It bursts from your very soul. You are beautiful. Only you. Love, Beautiful Rony.

MOTIVATION MONDAY

It has been a while since you had to explain yourself, fight for what you believe in and stand for what is right. These few days, months or years have been quiet, uneventful and nothing happened to turn your world upside down... but not these few moments. Everything in you is being put to the test. You used to think you were patient but at the very least provocation you snap back. Where is your sure footing? Where is the calm and grace with which you held yourself all that while. You were sure of it then; that you were grace personified, the light at the end of people's dark tunnels, and that you had the strength to carry the whole world on your shoulders. Now that it is too dark for you to know your way forward, now that you do not have enough strength to even get yourself up... it is now that you will truly taste what you are made of. Faced with two options, to quit or to forge ahead into the bleak tomorrow, you realise that real life is different from that which is...

TRAFFICKED SEVEN

TRAFFICKED-CODE BLUE She curled into a ball, her back to him as she gently rocked herself. Underneath his sheets she was stark naked, having had any semblance of clothing torn off of her when she was being defiled. No words were exchanged between them for a long time. Then suddenly Isaac spoke up. The rich and mocking timbre that he always had in his voice had turned sombre and sad. "You are sixteen, yea?" He asked not expecting a reply, "I was ten." He sighed deeply. Amina stilled. "When they took me from my family, I am sure my family did not even notice anything amiss. In fact, I was the third to vanish without a trace. And as it was for the other two, life continued. My mother did not weep, my siblings did not care. I guess with a household of 35 children, and seven wives..." He stopped again. This time he let out a shaky sigh. It was getting more difficult for him to speak. "No one wanted to bother my father with news of the loss of...

WORD WEDNESDAY

Ronyserials.blogspot.com First of all let me apologise for and explain this stop thingy. After my dad watched this advert on tele he got hooked especially to the part that said stop. So when ever I get into rant mode you know what follows 👇. So yes it is an inside joke. And every inside joke must be explained to the peeps you tell outside. But if you have to explain a joke... Today was not one of my best days. I encountered one of my worst enemies if not the very worst.  Myself. I realised that in a lot of ways I have abandoned a mentality that got me through a lot of dark moments. And it was simple.  There was nothing that I could set my mind on to that I could not acheive. But after one or two set backs I found myself thinking, "Maybe I am not so great." The problem is, the greatness in me will just not hear of this evil of which I speak. Like seriously, you are not so great? Really? *Tears at hair* So every time I try to hold my...

TRUTH TUESDAY

We did not have much of a choice. Many of us were brought up being very aware of color. One was black, another was white and the other one was mixed. So I understand if that is the first thing you see when you look at me. Well I may even go on ahead and say it. I see color too. And I guess that is the problem. But what can we really do about it? I know! Look beyond the color. You see, we can tell ourselves that we are not racist because we see colour. And it may very well be true. But to not be truly racist, we must not even see color at all. There may not be much hope for us. But we owe it to future generations to start ingraining it in our children that we are one. So it is not a matter of whose live matters or who is supreme. Once again it is a matter of love. It is a matter of oneness. That is not to say that we are the same. No. We are different. Where one is quiet the other is not. When one kills another heals. So what am I saying? Simple. There is a person behin...
