Episode four
Victoria’s eyes
were fixed to the ceiling. It had been so for the past hour or two; so had been
for the past night or two.
She was deep in
thought about so many things. But just one reared its ugly head and over
shadowed the rest. Only one thought could overshadow the strain her visit was putting
on her sister’s marriage. Only one thought could over shadow the immense
silence that echoed in a big house with four able people. Only one could
overshadow her guilt of professional incompetency.
One thought
throbbed on her insides.
In another
moment she heard a knock on her door. She dragged herself out of her bed.
“Bee, I am not
in the mood.” Vic said as she opened the door. The face that met her bored gaze
drew an involuntary gasp out of her.
“What do you want?”
Somehow she found her inner bitch and drew on the mask. Eric just shoved her
out of the way and entered her room. He stared at her for a long time. Taking
in the little silk nightie she wore and how it fell over her curves and dark
skin. He stood there for a long time and turned away.
“No.” Vic said
reflexively. She meant to say go.
He locked the
door and hang his head on it for a second or two as though contemplating the
consequence of his next move.
“I want you.”
His voice was rough.
He drew Victoria
closer and kissed her even rougher. Victoria moaned. He lifted her gently off
the ground then she wrapped her legs around his lean waist. The kiss got even
deeper and more desperate.
Immediately she
felt a pool fill up in between her thighs. Then just kissing was not enough.
They wanted more. He laid her gently on the bed. Before long, they were both
stark naked.
He was soft,
slow and passionate.
Victoria
screamed out in relief as her orgasm reverberated in the entirety of her being.
Eric was next. He moaned into Victoria’s neck…
“Vic? Are you
ok?”
Bertha’s voice did not belong here.
It seemed far. Almost
ethereal.
The knocks
became incessant…
Victoria finally
shot up in bed. Nothing but darkness surrounding her. Yes, and Bertha’s panicky
voice.
“I’m fine. Just
go away.” Vic shouted back. She shifted and felt the wetness between her thighs.
Painful tears stung her eyes and she screamed into her pillow.
She settled
uncomfortably into a fitful sleep.
Let this be over by morning.
***
“Good morning.”
The cheer in Bertha’s voice seemed like an affront to Vic. But Vic managed a
grunt in reply. The grunt sounded exactly as she felt and possibly looked. She
walked to the fridge hoping Bertha would not look up from whatever she was
preparing.
“I am getting better
at this.” Bertha practically sang.
“You tube?” Vic
asked.
But Bertha just
shrugged.
Who cares if she was learning to cook from the internet?
After all its proliferation of evil and stupidity the internet owes my sister
that much.
“Good morning.”
Bertha chirped again. Before Vic could say something mean to Bertha a grunt
similar to hers but deeper reached her ears.
Vic stilled.
“Can you get out
of my way?” The voice asked. He was right behind her. She turned and almost
backed into the fridge’s door. He had held the door with his right hand.
“Can you?” She asked
back. He just drew his hand up the door. Indicating that Victoria passed under
his arm.
The nerve!
“Get out of my
way.” Vic warned.
He shifted
slightly.
“Well pardon me.
I forgot how heavy you are. I guess you’ll need this whole space to get out of
my way.”
Victoria’s eye
bored into his for a long while before she muttered, “At least I am not
starving myself. I have enough money to afford a three square meal…DAILY!”
She shoved him
gracelessly and walked to Bertha whose brows were arched in wonder. But it
seemed she got over it quickly because she announced, “Breakfast is ready.”
She must have
felt sorry after that because immediately Vic and Eric grunted in unison and walked
out on her, both into the hall.
But she did not
feel sorry for long because came balancing a tray of some omelette, toast, some
instant coco and a jar of warm water.
“You are in my
house. And whether you like it or not, you are going to eat what I give you.” She
chided and walked out on them carrying herself with dignity, personified.
Awkwardly, they
got out their share of the meal and proceeded to eat. At a bite into the
omelette, they both spat out the content back onto the plate, looked at each
other and laughed.
“Was that salt?”
“Was that an egg
shell?”
Victoria and
Eric asked simultaneously. Then they burst out laughing again.
“We should have
known better.” Eric said.
Again, they
laughed.
After the laugh
died down Vic thought it wise to defend her sister’s honour.
“Her husband
sleeps with the cook, she has no choice!”
“O please.” Eric
said immediately.
“O please what?”
Vic was incensed.
“Well, you also
torment men with your sensuality.”
“How dare you.”
“You tried to
torment the wrong one this time, girl. This one here is obsessive, compulsive
and disordered.” He cooed.
“So what? You’ll
follow me around and try and spook me out. Grow up and get a job!” Vic taunted.
“Did I hear
someone call my cousin jobless?” Sam’s voice reached us at the hall’s entrance.
His T-shirt was drenched in sweat. He must have gone for a weekend run.
Why wouldn’t he!
“I am not
surprised that you’d say that though. Meet Eric, aka DJ Iceberg.”
Victoria
immediately scoffed.
Bertha
apparently had joined the scene and they all stared at her.
“A-a-are you
serious?” Victoria stammered. “The DJ Iceberg?”
“Eric, why don’t
you go and show her.”
“No!” Eric and
Vic exclaimed in one accord.
“Come on. You
two have been on each other’s necks ever since you met each other. Why don’t
you get to know each other first before you start throwing knives at each
other?”
“Come to think
of it,” Eric gave three deliberate tap of the foot, “Let’s go.”
Before she could
protest, she was being dragged into his room.
Eric practically
threw Vic into his room and locked the door.
“I have been
wanting this for a while now.” He breathed into her ears. The reaction was
instant.
Victoria was
wet.
He pressed his
hardness into her back. Victoria moaned.
“I see I have
got the same hold over you.” He whispered and bit softly into the softness right
beneath her jaw and proceeded to descend down her neck.
He was
deliberate; looking for her weaknesses and exploiting it and boy, did she have
many weaknesses.
He slid his
fingers down her pants and just as he expected, she was hot, wet and ready. He
could take her right there and then from behind. But no, this was now way past just
sex for him at the moment. He wanted more. He needed more.
Never had it
gone this far this quick with any woman he had had. No woman has been able to
successfully seduce him. And In his line of work, they were all practically
throwing themselves at him. So he had any woman he wanted.
But not this one.
This one hated him. He knew it and he loved it. He loved that he could make her
weak against her will. He loved it and did not want it to stop. Just taking her
there and then would have ended things. And he was not ready to end things.
“Wow! Now that
we’ve settled things, get out.” He said harshly.
He felt her
stiffen and regretted immediately.
Victoria could
not believe her ears. She turned and managed to scarcely hide the shock on her
face. She could not hold herself. She slapped him, turned her back on him and tear
stained and ashamed, went to her room.
Her tears
blinded her as she stuffed her clothes into her bag.
Never, never,
had she been treated with so much disrespect. NEVER.
***
Eric looked
through his window and saw her leave.
Never, never,
had any woman ever plagued his dreams. No woman has ever affected him so much.
He could see his
psychologist shake his head in disapproval.
“Sorry Fred,” He
said referring to his psychologist, “not letting this one go.”
